Human-Agent Interaction for Smart Energy Management

Biography:

I am researching on the project named intelligent Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning (HVAC) operation for the individualized occupant in residential households. The problem involves balancing contrary objectives, including thermal discomfort and electricity consumption costs associated with HVAC system control actions. User preference plays a major role here. However, a problem arises from incorporating human knowledge into the domain system, in an efficient and less-problematic way. Therefore, we specifically investigate different approaches that leverage user preference into the training procedure, as well as online learning to adjust the existing model so it is acting in accordance with the user’s present preferences.
